After college, Hall worked for several weekly publications in and around Jacksonville, and finally settled at The Baker County Press in Macclenny (just outside of Jacksonville) where he continues to work as the weekly cartoonist. Over the last 11 years, Hall has won 8 Florida Press Awards, 3 Newsmaker Awards, and numerous fine art awards in national and international competitions. In 2003, Ed was presented the 53rd Annual Green Eyeshade Award for weekly cartoons by The Society of Professional Journalists.  Ed has also twice received the prestigious Excellence in Journalism Award from The Florida Press Club (2003 & 2006).

Hall has published two collections of his cartoons.  The first "Code Red," released in 2003, was widely praised for it's originality and breadth.  In 2006, he published his second volume, entitled "Diversions."

Ed's work is reproduced in publications across North America. His cartoons have been featured in The Washington Post Weekly Edition, The Tallahassee Democrat,  The Los Angeles Times, and on CNN Headline News.  In 2003 he joined Artizans Syndicate and had a series of cartoons published in a book entitled "Hail To The Thief - Our 42nd President - William Jefferson Clinton."  

Halltoons have also consistently been featured in Charles Brook's "Best Editorial Cartoons of The Year (2001 thru 2007)."

Ed is married to Emmy, his first and best editor.
